ok, these things have been floating around facebook for quite awhile, but for those of you who don't do the whole facebook thing, let me explain. i'm simply supposed to tell you 25 things about me that you probably don't know. then you are supposed to do the same. feel free to respond or not respond, either way's fine with me.
1. i sleep on my stomach with my toes hanging off the edge of the bed. my mom says that my foot stuck out of her stomach when she was pregnant for me. a correlation? i like to think so.
2. i like forks the best. i will use forks to eat just about anything other than soup. i even like to eat ice cream with a fork when i can.
3. i really like sunshine, even though my red-headedness doesn't sometimes. i can get cranky if i don't see or feel the sun for a day.
4. i really really like the mixture of cake, icing, and ice cream all in the same bite. i have to be careful how i eat those three things together to make sure that i get the right proportion in each bite.
5. i really like to text. i like the simplicity of it and i like the entertainment of it, a lot actually. and i just got a new phone with a full keyboard on it, which makes it even easier!
6. when i need to clear my head i either need windshield time or to run.
7. i really don't enjoy black and brown together. and i really really don't enjoy navy blue and black together. there's a reason that's the color of a bruise.
8. when we were little, i convinced my little sister to go down the stairs head first. she had a broken leg at the time and ended up breaking it even further. she likes to tell that story to get me in trouble, but i just beat her to the punch.
9. i own three pairs of chacos and three pairs of keens. all very, very different, and yes, i need all of them. (those are shoes for those of you who don't spend enough time at rei!)
10. i really like that i can truthfully start off sentences like this "when i was riding an elephant in thailand..." no joke, i did it!
11. i really want to ride in a hot air balloon, but it better be some place with really great scenery.
12. i hit 2 deer within 10 months with two different cars. good thing they were texas size deer and not colorado size!
13. i have played the Bb clarinet, Eb clarinet, bass clarinet, tenor sax, and bari sax at one point in my life...and i was actually pretty good. then i moved to texas.
14. my gps's name is jack. not because i named it, but because it came with that name for that particular voice. i don't name cars or electronic devices, but if they come with a name i will use it.
15. i was a licensed amateur radio operator at the age of 13 and have been ever since. my callsign is KC0AMO (one zero and one oh...very important) it's on my license plate.
16. i competed in science fairs when i was in middle school and high school...by choice, not by force. i even got an honorable mention at state :)
17. when i was little i took my shoes off at the door because else we made the house too dirty. now i always take my shoes off when i get inside, but it's because i don't really like to wear shoes. i'll take my shoes off any chance i get, but i really love shoes themselves. i really hate working at summer camp because i not only don't get to wear sandals during the summer, but i have to wear shoes during the summer....alll....the...time! (but that's pretty much the only reason i would ever hate working at camp)
18. a grilled cheese sandwich is one of my favorite breakfast foods and has been since middle school.
19. i used to be terrified of the ropes course, and now there is no place at camp that i would rather be.
20. rachel and i got our picture taken with rascal flatts at the colorado state fair because she entered my name into a drawing with a local radio station because she wasn't 18 yet and i was. it was pretty cool!
21. when i was little i hated making my bed so much that i slept in a sleeping bag on top of my bed. this went on for quite a while.
22. when i was little, i liked to slam my door to my bedroom. my punishment was to have my door removed. that was pretty much the worst punishment EVER. literally.
23. my cell phone number ends in 9042 and my parents home number ends in 0942. rachel's phone ends in 9043. i like numbers and relationships with numbers. my zip code is 78945 and i really really like it.
24. my middle name is my mother's maiden name. i like to think that if my kids had my maiden name as their middle name, they could say "witte is my middle name!" hahahaha....
25. i don't like to crunch bugs with my fingers, so i trap them in a glass, put on shoes (because of course i wasn't wearing any!), go outside and squish them with my foot. then i don't have to feel the crunch, but they are out of my house. that works especially well with roaches, which are awful, awful creatures.
