my favorite artsy picture of the weekend. we painted the floor...the plan is that paint cleans easier than the concrete does. we're skeptical, but we did what we were told.

i finally got my texas drivers license! it only took just shy of two months of waiting and that was after 3 months of living in texas with a colorado license. so, just after 5.5 months of living here, i finally have something i was supposed to have within 30 days of moving. oh, and i got my kc0amo plates finally too! dad is calling me a texan, but i don't claim to be one of those...i simply live in texas (which still shocks me sometimes to say that...)

excitement of the last week

1. helping libby with her excel homework (highlight for sure!)
2. getting a cavity filled and having to pay for it
3. having my couch and tables delivered, although one of the tables was deeply scratched (we're still working on getting a new one)
4. reading angels and demons (which took place in rome which was so exciting!)
5. dealing with office drama....i thought only high schoolers created this much drama!
6. malea is coming to visit on friday!
7. dealing with absurd requests from retreat groups on the phone
8. rearranging my house
9. making the best hummus to date
and
10. not watching tv for a whole week so i actually go to bed eariler and get more stuff done - go figure!

and speaking of going to bed...that's what i will be doing right now. goodnight.

don't get too excited, i don't have it yet. i won't have it until about april sometime, but i really love it.

i'm getting the rest of my furniture on FRIDAY!

the 20 something girl's guide to decorating

if you don't have a drill, just find a nail that is a little bit smaller than the screw you are trying to screw in. pound the nail in enough to make a good hole, then pull the nail out, and wa-la! you have a hole just the right size. who cares about the process, the product is just the same as a drill :)

that's what i learned today while trying to install these cute curtain hold back hook things. and it worked just wonderfully, thank you. no fancy tools needed. i'll try to post a picture, but right now it's against a window and it's too bright outside to get the correct contast.
