a few exciting (?) things

-rachel gets married in just a few weeks! PLUS she graduates too!
-my sunflowers are sprouting (i'll post pictures to prove it later)
-my red peppers got knocked over, therefore they are not sprouting (i don't plan on posting a picture of this sadness)
-david letterman has a really bad cold and can't talk, but is still doing his show tonight. it's kind of funny...kind of annoying.
-i worked 25 hours in 2 days...and it's only wednesday. we'll see what happens between now and my next day off, which is monday. blech.
-i'm really enjoying my wood wick green 100% veggie wax that smells like cotton breeze and the container is made from recycled glass :) the wood wick makes it sound like a campfire!
-i love my mini computer.
-i'm sitting in my crazy creek in my living room...cuz sometimes a $30 crazy creek just works better than real furniture.
-i'm bored.
-tomorrow i get to go see the musical rent in houston - i'm excited!

a fun pic

usually i'm behind the camera and don't get pictures of me very often. my dear friend heather (sometimes i like to call her heater instead) took this picture of me, and i really really love it. i saturated the color a little bit, which made my hair look purple...which is kind of true lately, but not quite that purple.

one dollar!

ok, so you know the $1 bins at the front of target? mmm hmm, you know the ones. you can buy just about everything that you would never think of, and it's only one dollar! well today we found quite the find.

chris and i were wandering pretty aimlessly around target, and we ended up back at the front of the store at the dollar bins. this is how i remember the story, chris may have a different version, but he's not typing so he has no say :) we saw these little tiny pots with dirt and seeds in them (remember, only one dollar!) and chris says something to the extent of 'wow, that doesn't look like a good idea.' well, i really like to prove him wrong...i really, really like to. it's pretty hard to do, because he knows a little bit about everything, and i do mean everything. BUT so far i think i'm better at growing things than he is (based soley on the fact that i have plants growing at my house and he doesn't. well ok, he does have plants growing at his house, but mine started from seeds that i planted by myself, and i take care of them and they are still growing!) so, of course i need to prove him wrong. so i picked up a pot of sweet red pepper seeds and one of sunflowers.

i got them home tonight and decided to plant them. i kind of figured that i would just add water and it would be ready, but turns out there was a little more work than that. the soil was dehydrated and squished (that's a technical term) into a nice little cylinder. i read the directions (i know, right? go figure!) and soaked the soil in water. it exploded! there was so much soil packed into that little geometrical shape. i put the now wet soil into the pot, put the seeds in, and then put a little bit more soil on top. one of them came in its own little greenhouse (the sunflowers) and the other one did not. but, the sunflowers came in a dinky little plastic pot, and the red peppers came with a terra cotta pot. so, let the growing begin!

i'll try to keep you updated on the growing of my new fabulous plants. maybe i'll even show you pics of my sweet basil and some other kind of flowers that i forgot the names of. they've been growing for quite a few weeks now, but they started from seeds.

ok, i think this is what happens when you live by yourself in the middle of nowhere...i blog about seeds.

more pictures, more posts.

well, seems like lately all i do is post when i have pictures. lucky for you, i have some pictures for you!

when mom and dad were here, we went to corpus christi. we spent some time on the beach, some time exploring, and some time eating. it was fun!

from the very top of the uss lexington.
before we got on the lexington. it was really really really windy that day!

they let me try out flying a plane...or at least let me pretend.
and then i locked mom and dad in jail.

i knew my hair dryer can fold up for easy transportation, but i didn't know planes could do that!
dad likes to play with guns. look at that face!

some really big chains.

some people were feeding the birds by throwing food into the air. with the combination of the wind and the food, the birds stayed in the same place in the air. it was pretty cool looking!
and this is my favorite one from the trip!

ok, that's all i got. coming up soon is a friend's wedding in texas, the lutherhill golf tournament, the easter eggstravaganza at chris' church (i'm the honorary member who gets to take pictures, or something like that - it involves donkey rides and everything!) and hopefully some wonderful pictures of the texas wild flowers that are fabulous right now. you should be excited!
