finally, a real post

ok, since i got a lot of dirty looks and mean comments, i'll post something. (just kidding, i didn't get either, but i will post something)

so the week before thanksgiving, i had a flat tire. turns out there was a rather sharp piece of metal sticking into my poor jeep's back right foot. well, i took it to the nice uhaul man in la grange, and he fixed it for me. or so i thought.

today i got to the airport and was so excited to be on my way home. so excited that i did not check my tires, and felt as though my jeep was behaving a bit abnormally. i figured that was due to the extreme lack of contact my jeep and i have had over the last week, plus i was lost in the large city of houston, so i ignored it.

after i had been on the highway for a while though, i kept noticing my jeep was driving funny. i needed gas anyway, so i pulled over and got some gas. that's when i saw it, another flat tire. sad sad day. luckily i had to go on the toll road, and i didn't have correct change, so they gave me 2 quarters change. that was lucky because i had another quarter in my wallet, and air for my poor tire was exactly three quarters.

so i pumped up the tire and got gas and was on my way again. i stopped every 10-20 minutes to check my tire and everything seemed just dandy. i got to brenham (the last big city until i would get home, about 45 minutes from la grange) i decided to check one last time. the tire was doing fine, so i decided to get some much needed groceries. when i went to put the groceries in my car i noticed that my car was kind of leaning...A FLAT FLAT TIRE! oh no.

my jeep and i hobbled along to get to the nearest gas station to hopefully add some air to the tire (since that worked before, it would work again, right? no.) so i finally get to the gas station and there is this nice sign on the air pump saying "out of order." well, that's probably good because i shouldn't have just been blowing up my tire anyways. so what's there to do? draw on those tire changing skills that dad and i practiced in the safeness of our colorado garage.

well, i started off great. i remembered where the jack was kept and that i would need the special key to get the spare tire off. i put the jack under the jeep and didn't really find a good spot but i thought it would work. after a lot of jacking it up, it was working ok, but not great. then this really nice man came up to me and said "would you like some help?" i said no. JUST KIDDING! i said yes. (oh i forgot to mention that the whole hour before this was POURING rain but by this time it was bearly sprinkling.)

so he starts fiddling with things and asks for my manual and figures out a better place to put the jack. he basically takes over the tire changing, which i am totally ok with (note to readers: i am perfectly capable of chaning a tire, do not get me wrong. i just didn't want to do it. plus, i wanted to make this nice man feel useful ;) haha but seriously, i can change a tire.)

in a few minutes his wife comes out with hot chocolate and baby wipes for our hands! what a sweet couple. so he keeps working on my tire and eventually gets the spare on and the flat tire on the back. i thank them profusely and then we are both on our way.

just another day in the life of me. i really could have done without the flat tire, but it turned out pretty good i'd say. moral of this story - if you ever see someone trying to change a tire, stop and help them, because someone stopped to help me.

i hope this keeps you entertained for a while because the internet is not working at my house, so it might be a while before another blog.

thanks for hanging with me!

as you might have noticed, i have been absent from my blogging for quite a while. one might think that the absense of blogs means that i have nothing going on in my life and nothing to write about. that person would be wrong.

i will write more later.
